A beginning, not a sequel
E-Day follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago as the Locust emerge. It takes place fourteen years before the original game. You can begin with this origin story without treating the older games as required homework.
Learn the new movement
The developer describes rebuilt cover, a slide from sprint, jumping and climbing. You can climb without first entering cover. Low cover offers protection with a more exposed profile.
Suggested practice: use the game’s onboarding to learn cover entry, then try a slide and a climb. This is a learning sequence, not a tested combat strategy.
Expect weapons to feel different
Shots have travel time, and aiming supports shoulder swapping. The Gnasher and Breechshot can reload individual rounds. Do not assume your old reload rhythm or aiming habits transfer unchanged.
Find your reload indicator
The active reload bar defaults below the reticle, with an option to move it to the upper-right. Check the settings and onboarding before settling on your preferred placement.
Exact key bindings, optimal settings and damage rankings are outside this announcement-based guide.
